Since the 2018 elections, Kristianstad municipality has been governed by the Moderates, Liberals, Center Party and Christian Democrats. However, SD is the largest party with 26.46 percent of the votes in the parliamentary elections and the second largest party in the local elections after the Social Democrats, so a re-election would mean that they will win.
