Thank you Ivor. I realised the response to this virus was wildly and destructively incorrect by June for sure. How? I knew of nobody below 75 who had died from it + nobody I spoke with knew of anyone either. A local undertaker confirmed this by saying it was as busy as normal and no more. Then I started to hear people who could not get to see the doctor for weeks, nor dentists etc it was obvious this would lead to unnecessary suffering and death. Sadly the figures are mounting: 200,000 women less than normal had breast cancer screenings....a sincere and saddened surgeon reported that this would lead to 20,000 excess deaths. Why are the govt pursuing this insanity which has already driven the country back into 1930s living standards when the borrowed money stops coming? Either the same level of utter foolishness that saw soldiers going 'over the top' into machine gun fire for 3 years and lack of positive action to Hitler's expansionist policy early enough to avert the destruction of WW2 OR a considered intent to destroy our countries. I hope to goodness it's the former. One thing is for sure: the decision makers know the cost of this lockdown in terms of human suffering and death. In the Guardian yesterday 4.9 million fewer knee and hip replacement surgeries and caataract operstions = 4.9 million people either unable to walk normally or partially blind. We must find a way to hold those responsible to account personally and to let them know this.
