Vision for Kelly's garden Feb. 16th, 2020|11:35 pm

Positioned in what is currently a conservation area, the garden has a roughly rectangular shape extending lengthwise away from the house towards the South. With the effect of the perspective it leaves a feeling of being almost a square when seen from the house. The entrance to the garden is a glazed corner of the living room that can be opened up fully when the weather is nice. Right outside the entrance ,the ground of the patio is stone-tiled and there are two raised beds on the opposite sides with 4 steps leading to the raised garden part that has a slight slope rising in the direction away from the entrance. At the far left corner from entrance there is a tall twin-trunked lime tree with a rich ivy covering its trunks.
The vision for the garden is: "cosy, not cluttered, not like everything is on top of you." Some lawn, but not pristine, more of wildflowers, more of the wildlife. Some edible perennials, some windbreak for the prevailing winds.
The working part would be next to the patio in the raised beds, with aromatic herbs for the kitchen. Although weeding is ok, we would like the garden to be able to fend for itself. We are going to look at evergreens, perennials and aromatic flowering plants that cover the seasons. All colours of the rainbow, with blooms in purples, pinks and yellows dominating the scene.

What is already there:
2x raised beds, need compost and planting up.
2x evergreen shrubs, to be identified
A honeysuckle.
A small Camellia shrub.
A Viburnum shrub
A Large Lime-tree

Gravel on top of a weed suppressing membrane, which has been there for 6 years.
A raised bed around the Lime-tree.
