— a lot of people set themselves up for this idea that happiness is gonna be right when i reach that goal. It's not now. You know, i can't be really happy now 'cause i haven't achieved this, that and the other. — yeah, it seems like people do that for pretty much all of life. There's at least a heavy pattern of people who do that i'll-be-happy-when. It seems to start when we're very, very young, right? - that happiness is something - or the implication of the idea is - that happiness is something that's deferred. of course, your life sucks right now: you're in school 40 hours a week, you can't drive, you don't even know how to cook, for X's sake!
