I remember watching that World Cup goal at school. We were all shouting at the TV after the handball, but the second goal? I remember just an awed resigned muttering. Read his ghost-written autobiography a few years ago. Really liked the expression "he let the tortoise drink the milk."
The best football player in my lifetime by a country mile: human like Tyson Fury or Paul Gascoigne - analogue not digital - genius in the spread of undemarcated time. |
