Man bija draugs, Altafs - sirsnīgs tips - musumlmanis, kurš piedzima Anglijā, bet kura vecāki bija no Pakistānas. Viņam patika dzert un smēķēt (viņš apgalvoja, ka bija kokosrieksts - white on the inside, brown on the outside), tomēr viņš apgalvoja, ka viņš nekad nelasa/nelasīja/nelasīs grāmatu, kuras autors ir sieviete. Turklāt, viņam bija grūti pieņemt to, kā sievietes te Latvijā ģērbjas ('honestly it's disgusting - I had to tell her to put them away')...
Un no Muslim Council of Britain, mēs varam lasīt šo par esošu situāciju manā dzimtenē: "An overwhelming* majority, 73%, of the Muslim population in England and Wales consider British to be their national identity, despite more than half (52.8%) of them born abroad. This 2011 Censaus finding is consistent with other academic studies and research. A YouGov poll (2014) found that 63% of British Muslims strongly agreed or tended to agree with the statement "I am proud to be a British citizen and to be identified as part of this nation"
You are welcome, protams, arī izdarīt citus (ne tik positīvus) secinājumus no šīs informācījas.
*Nezinu, ka tas tiešam ir 'overwhelming' |
