Kārtējais tā sauktais vīriešu feminists - šoreiz no Turn Left Media UK nenoguris postulē un argumentē par labu tam, lai sievietes zaudētu savas tiesības. Laiž apritē tos pašus jau nez cik reižu atgremotos un pārstrādātos argumentus, viņš sevi redz, protams, 'vēstures pareizajā pusē', kā minoritāšu aizstāvi, neapzinoties, ka viņš dara tieši to pret ko iebilda sufražistes - absolūti ignorē sieviešu argumentus un vajadzības. Tas man kārtējo reizi liek aizdomāties vai šie vīriešu feministi redz sievietes kā reālus cilvēkus (kuri nav vīrieši) un es par to mazliet šaubos.

Un, kas attiecas tieši uz For Women Scotland (sieviešu org, kas panāca augstākās tiesas spriedumu), tad uzbraucieni viņām no kreisajiem ir līdz nelabumam līdzīgi kādreizējiem uzbraucieniem sufražistēm.
Both of these groups are defending women's sex based rights and both are getting same shit for it.

Te ir jāizvērtē prioritātes, kas ir svarīgāk: sieviete, kura ir apcietināta par to, ka pie viņas atrastas narkotikas vai arī viņa ir kaut ko nozagusi veikalā var kļūt par vīrieša slepkavas izvarošanas upuri, jā, BET - no otras puses, vismaz šis slepkava varēs izvairīties no vīriešu agresijas, atrodoties sieviešu cietumā. Vīrieša slepkavas tiesības hierarhijā pārspēj visu sieviešu tiesības.
Par šo tēmu man savulaik ir komentējušas 2 feministu cibiņas. Vienas arguments bija: a)tas nenotiek b)sieviešu cietumos cietumsardzes izvaro sievietes - tiec galā ar šo! Basically - sieviešu cietumā jau tā ir vardarbība, so let's just add some men to the mix and let's see how that works out! Otras cibiņas arguments ir īpašs, citēšu te vārds vārdā kā viņa redz manu pozīciju: "ak nē, cietumā izvaros šitā, nevis tā, kā es gribu, tas ir tik vardarbīgi un traģiski, jo es gribēju, lai izvaro tā, kā man šķiet morāli pareizi." No visiem argumentiem, ko esmu lasījusi, this one takes the cake as the most deranged one. Tā ir tiešām iespaidīgas pakāpes mentālā ģimnastika, lai attaisnotu vīriešu vardarbību un tā vietā uzbruktu cilvēkiem, kuri uz šo vardabību norāda.

"Queer theory was not the only force driving the transition from sex to gender. The liberal individualism of human rights was important in the early phase. This discourse informed a series of legal decisions which erected a new domain of rights around gender identity. Thus Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights which guarantees respect for private and family life was interpreted as requiring the transfer of a violent rapist to a women’s prison.
There is an affinity between the liberal discourse of human rights and the radical discourse of queer theory: they favour those who are construed as victims of formal institutions of power. From this perspective, it is progressive to champion the transgender prisoner contesting the power of the state and transgressing the dominant categories of society. The power that can be exercised among individuals, such as that exerted by one inmate over another, is ignored. Thus no consideration was given to women who would be confined with violent or sexually predatory males. Female prisoners were invariably treated as an audience obliged to validate the performance of gender identity."
