# Kopš "Rīgas Laiks" ir atjaunojis rubriku "Vakariņas ar Andrē", par rubrikā ievietotā satura kvalitāti var strīdēties, bet ir pamudinājums atkal noskatīties leģendāro Malles filmu "My Dinner with Andre" (youtube.com pieejama Criterion collection versija, pietiekami kvalitatīva). Kad pirmoreiz to skatījos, pirms gadiem, burtiski visas divas stundas smējos. Tagad, jau ne vairs "jaunībā", skatoties, - domīgi smaidu, brīžam skumstu - par kaut ko pat nesaprotamu, par ko man šī saruna atgādina. Ne noraidu, ne nenoraidu - tipa, cenšos "uzstādīt jautājuma zīmes dziļāk", bet tur viss ir tik mīklains un nesaprotams, ka nav pat, kur uzstādīt. Un, protams, parādījušās dažādas nianses, kuras senāk nelikās būtiskas, - piemēram, ka Andrē stāsta par pagātni, par dzīves posmu, kas viņam ir noslēdzies (ar apbedīšanas rituālu, loģiski) un kurā viņš acīmredzami vairs neatgriezīsies.
Gabaliņš par augiem, ko minēja pie iepriekšējā ieraksta:
André: ...So I was spending the summer on Long Island with my family, and I heard about this community in Scotland called Findhorn where people sang and talked and meditated with plants.
Wally: God...
André: And it was founded by several rather middle-class English and Scottish eccentrics - some of them intelectuals, and some of them not. And I heard that they grew things in soil that supposedly almost nothing could grow in because it's almost beach soil - and that they'd built - not built, they'd grown - er- the largest cauliflowers in the world - and there are sort of cabbages - they've supposedly grown trees which can't grow in the British Isles. And so I went there, and I mean, it is an amazing place, Wally. I mean, if there are insects bothering their plants, they will talk with the insects, and you know, make an agreement where they will set aside a special patch of vegetables just for the insects, and then the insects will leave the main part alone. And things like that. And they live with a sort of wild enthusiasm - you know, the word "enthusiasm" refers to "the god within", and they do somehow seem to see the god within everything. So all sorts of things that we would do sort of mechanically, just because we feel thay have to be done, they do with an extraordinary intensity. I mean, for instance, all the buildings at Findhorn just shine.
# Kaut kur netā bija labs sarakstiņš ar mainstream American movies, kas inteliģentā un kvalitatīvā veidā "tackle spirituality" - gandrīz viss Terenss Maliks (Thin Red Line; Tree of Life) bija augstās vietās, bet es ievietotu pirmajā pieciniekā arī gan tur neminētās "Vakariņas", gan "Dead Man Walking" - nesen vēlreiz noskatījos. Iespējams, viena no labākajām filmām par katolicisma būtību, labi parāda tieši to milzīgo apsēstību ar "pareizu nomiršanu" - nāve pati vispār nav nekāda problēma, problēma ir pareizs apziņas stāvoklis. "I want the last face you see in this world to be the face of love, so you look at me when they do this thing. I'll be the face of love for you", un tā tālāk. Un arī pēcnāves aina ir no dogmas viedokļa pareizi uztaisīta: ķermeni atstājušais gars paceļas virs zemes, vēlreiz redz to, ko ir nodarījis, jo ir piedabūts to apzināties un uzņemties par to personīgu atbildību (jā, personīgu!), un tāpēc var doties uz "šķīstītavu" ar visām savām milzīgajām ciešanām, bet vismaz ir izglābts no "elles". |
