My theist friends were once offered to answer a question: If there was a religion which would help you to become a better person, would you want to join it? Their response was an unanimous consent—a resounding Yes. In that answer a serious disconnect lies between us. I don't think that way at all. It would be like asking "If you would be nicer believing that Saturn was larger in size than Jupiter, would you want to believe that Saturn is larger than Jupiter?" Indeed, some truths can be comforting; the essential difference remains—beliefs are not to be arrived at by measuring the sort of emotions they provide. In the final analysis, beliefs are to be derived by intellect (including the senses) alone. A crucial difference between infantile faith and reason.
