ja nu kādam tas vidspār interesē - Edvartiņš (Edward Hugh) - vien no tiem ekonomokeksiem kas rubī fišku ... šamējais nākamnedēļ būs dzintara zemē - nezinu kur konkrēti, bet zemāk pārpublicējums no šamējā "sejas grāmatas":
I'm off to Latvia later next week to give a presentation on demography and economic growth. Another of the speakers will be Mihails Hazens who conducted the research highlighted in this article. His work confirms what many of us already knew: that in countries who have been badly hit by the economic crisis emigration is much larger than official figures suggest.
Hazens thinks that rather than the... 33,000 estimated in official data the real outflow over the last decade has been more like 200,000. And this in a country where natural population decline already exists. Obviously the country's future is threatened. Given the importance of this issue in some countries, official lack of concern is most striking.
Just how many young people are currently leaving Greece, Portugal and Spain, for example, and what will be the impact on the growth outlook for those countries? Strange how this never gets a mention even while people insist on keeping telling us that the proposed structural reforms will work economic miracles. Oh really?
