Are we building this universe, or are we discovering it? That's a fascinating question. Sure, we won't stumble on it by accident; rather, we'll conjure it forth through a lot of intelligent and hard work. But, this "synthetic" universe already exists. It always has and always will. Just as 2 is the eternal result of the computation 1 + 1...
