No matter how hard I have tried, it has proven extraordinarily difficult to ‘poke holes’ in the BCS theory of superconductivity. Journal referees, grant managers, conference
organizers, are extraordinarily resistant to allow consideration of heretic views on this topic, particularly in the US. Even sympathetic colleagues that profess to be open to the possibility that BCS may not be completely right are reluctant to undertake any serious consideration of the issues raised here, correctly assuming that it would undermine their chances to get their grants renewed, their salary raised, their invitation to speak at the next conference, and the growth of their H-index
