Priekš LessWrong racionālistiem veģetārisms ir nepietiekoši edgy, too maistream: click.
Point of interest rakstā ir deduktīvs arguments par labu veģetārismam: 1. A moral-uncertainty-about-animals premise. /We are not certain whether animals are moral subjects, but there seems to be a greater-than-insignificant probability that they are./ 2. An altruism-in-the-face-of-uncertainty premise. /One should avoid doing things that certainly give a small positive value for oneself, but possibly may have large negative value for others - e.g. rape/ 3. An eating-animals-doesn’t-have-enormous-benefits premise. /Meat is not necessary for us/ 4. An eating-animals-is-causally-linked-to-factory-farming premise. /Is there anyone who raises/hunts all of his own meat today? 5. So don’t eat the animals in question.
