Ņemot vērā Kr.Zariņa nepatīkamo personu, kura nomāc vēlmi slavēt; kā arī to, ka šāda gleznieciskā stilistika viengabalaināk padodas veselai plejādei jauno un vidēji jauno mākslinieču - sieviešu, un to, ka pēc 20.gs. II puses feminisma gājiena gleznot plikas tantes vīrieškārtas autoram var būt bīstami (es labāk gribētu, lai Kr.Zariņš to nedarītu), taču ir jāatzīst, ka Kr. Zariņa "Sejas" Mūkusalas mākslas salonā, kā arī šī izstāde liecina, ka autors radošā attīstība ir apmetusi vienu kvalitatīvu spirāles loku augšup.
K.Zarins's nasty persona lessens the desire to praise him. Also there's a number of young and not so young female artists who paint in this manner way more consistent then Zarins does, as well as it's not that simple to paint naked ladies after the 20th century march of feminism (I would rather like him not doing it), but nevertheless K.Zarins' exhibition "Faces" in Mūkusala Art Salon and this particular one testify that the artist has evolved to the next level.

Šoreiz – Kristapam Zariņam negaidīti konceptuāla izstāde – sižeti aizgūti no 19-20.gadsimta mijā izdotas, erotiku un sengrieķu mitoloģiju saplūdinošas grāmatas. Detalizētais ģenitāliju attēlojums vēl pirms dažām desmitgadēm šos darbus būtu ļāvis saukt par akurāt pornogrāfiskiem, bet 2013.gadā te erotikas pamaz. Grāmatas modeles ir adaptētas mākslinieka stilistikā, ir arī ierasti spilgtās krāsas, bet no tā visa staro nekrofīls vēsums
An unexpectedly conceptual exhibition by Kristaps Zariņš – the images are derived from a fin-de-siècle book fusing erotica and Greek mythology. The detailed depiction of genitalia would have made these works pornographic a mere few decades ago, yet in 2013 they are hardly erotic. The models from the original book have been adapted to the artist's trademark aesthetic, the characteristically bright colours are here, too, yet all of it exudes nothing but necrophilic chill.
