Freedom and instincts

Freedom to leave is the most basic freedom. You may lack all the other freedoms (or any other power) but usually you have at least freedom to leave. That may not be much yet it is freedom. I remember a movie when a paraplegic had a switch installed in his life support that would switch it off if he blew in a specific way in his breathing tube. And he never used it.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Trust your instincts. I myself sometimes have trouble with that, especially if my instincts propose something quite radical. Then there is this internal battle with my instincts on one side, fear of the unknown and the comfort of the known on the other and my mind as a judge.
But this time it was like refreshing swim in the lake in a hot evening. Suddenly it felt right. It just did. And my mind at an amazing rate generated rational justifications for what my instincts have said. Yeah, it tends to do that, I dunno why. Guess my mind likes the feeling that it is the one making the decision not some glorified chaotic and random subconscious firing of neurons called instinct or intuition. Well, let's keep the illusion, shall we?
