My blood eats!
my 3rd time today trying to give blood within the last year & a half & i was turned down again! "underweight, low iron, blah, blah, blah". after taking vitamin supplements, my iron level actually managed to lower more.....wwaaahhhhh???bah, i'm finally ready to take the hint. |

Halloweenie
volunteering @ children's hospital on halloween is so.damn.awesome... just the whole atmosphere. although night shift wasn't as fun as the day shift i did last year, it still beat sitting @ home pining over past t.o.t.'s. oh but my simpsons' halloween scrubs totally kicked ass as verb'd by many, many people. excellent :-) ok must sleep now. oh wait 'mst3k' is still on! heaven. |

No, you're not so far...
santa cruz was absolutely beautiful & the frames were feckin' amazing! just a perfect getaway weekend :-)~ the cool breeze, the awesome games & rides on the boardwalk... so much fun :-) after walking down the entire beach whilst the waves crashed against our ankles/legs, my friend & i fell asleep on the most secluded part of the beach whilst watching & listening to the faint sounds of the waves rolling in & the giggles of children playing far off in the distance. sooooo relaxing.~ getting to the catalyst club early in time to listen to the frames warm up w/ *gulp* 'what happens when the heart just stops'!!!!! i was praying they'd play it! just listening to it reverberate through to us @ the bar whilst i swayed to & fro was so awesome. moreso when i embarrassingly looked back to see the headlining band, calexico, sitting together @ a table staring in our direction :-o uh, yeah man, the opening act rules :-D~ running into glen hansard several times in the bar after the warm-up. it seemed every time i got up to walk around, he was there for me to (almost!) bump into. he just smiled knowingly :-)~ being front row, which was DAMN close :-D, & having glen making loads of eye contact & smiling @ me throughout the set!!! what was that about?!? did it when they first came on, when i girly-shrieked @ the start of 'star star**' (huuuuuge grin there!), when i was the ONLY one who cheered @ the first chords of 'what happens when the heart just stops', when i tore away from my loving gaze of colm (whom i am now madly in love w/!) playing his beautiful violin instrument to look @ glen who had the sweetest smile on his face, & so on & so on...... :-) awesome. i can not wait for them to tour the states again, but damnit it better be headlining :-D~ being completely surprised w/ how good calexico is live. i'd heard a few songs beforehand & liked them, but man they can really jam live. good sexy disco, mariachi, electronic music is the best i can describe it :-)~ @ the end of the show requesting & being given the big promotional frames poster hung in the window... so awesome :-) getting to spend the weekend @ the beach listening to jack johnson the whole roadtrip & seeing a kickass show from the frames... i honestly couldn't have pictured a more perfect 'holiday' :-D |

Uh, 400+ miles... yeah, just a tad
d'oh! i just found out i'm missing cake play in bakersfield tomorrow.... damnation!!! buuuut my best mate & i are finally off for a fabulous weekend in santa cruz to frolic on the beach & of course to catch the frames & calexico gig. i really, really need this now so i'm beyond ecstatic. lately, i've no time to sleep or eat, & it doesn't look like that'll change anytime soon. but if one more person says to me that i'm "wasting away", i'll... i'll... oh meh. |

i love the shadows formed in my room by sunset's light. but i think my eyes are losing it. in the planter, i see 2 birds formed by the leaves... one of which is holding up a scalpel ready to attack.definitely studying too hard. |

i was inducted into the above society w/out even realizing it's the only international nursing society in the world... sweeet. didn't even think it was that big a deal until i showed up @ the ceremony to find that only 8 out of 50 in my nursing class had been selected to join. how'd that happen??hearing "you are the best & the brightest" always just scares the hell out of me. *shudder* |

had to spend $$$ from my 1st paycheck on something other than repairing & replacing stuff for my car. realized i needed a new watch after this lady's expulsed fluids splashed onto my old bracelet-like watch w/ a zillion links each needing to be swabbed. lovely ;-p |

Don't change your plans
i still can't believe i missed out on seeing the foo fighters thursday for only 12 bucks. their other shows are going for $30+. but it being the day of the health fair we ran, plus having lecture early the next day & then working the night shift later on, in addition to still being sick, maybe it was all for the---- ah fuck no. i missed the foos! :-( |
