    De-evolution indeed.
Ran across THIS a couple of minutes ago. Confusion abounds. Oh, and you may want to turn your speakers down a bit before you clickie.Have any of you seen the new Hills Have Eyes remake? I'm more disgusted by it the more reviews I read, and I think I'll just end up renting the original when I get home. Double feature with Last House on the Left perhaps. Damn, I hope they don't remake that one.Road trip to the west coast and thereabouts next week, so more photos next weekend. :)edit: Old news, but I'm glad Crash won an Oscar. Haven't seen it, but South Park taught me early on that racial tension will always beat out gay cowboys eating pudding. And hooray for Brandt winning Best Actor!

Narnia was fun, I enjoyed it.Finally done with the last of my packing and can soon go to sleep. That is if I'm able, anyway. Very excited to fly out tomorrow. In case nobody has picked up on it yet, I'll be away for two months running around North Ireland, England, Ireland, and Scotland. Well, most likely taking it all in at a leisurely pace rather than running. I'll be around every so often to post photos or updates or whatever probably, like before. All of you please take care of yourselves and smile. You have such a lovely smile.

    I broke my wookie.
I hurt much worse today than I did yesterday, I'm assuming these are the effects of a deep massage. I hope it eases up soon. *sob*Just got back from Episode III. I won't go into details, but I will say that I wasn't disappointed. It did seem to take a little too long for the actual story to kick in, but once it did it was enjoyable enough. There was still some dialogue that made me cringe, and I did manage to spot George Lucas's cameo. My two favorite scenes I was waiting for did not let me down. There were some things that did not make sense (I won't discuss them here, but if anybody is curious and would like to discuss, comment or something) for the characters, but by and large I think he did a great job covering as many storylines as he needed to in such a small window of time. Overall, I'd say it was good. Think I'm going to go pop in A New Hope and lay on my heating pad.

Randomly blurted out during last night's episode of "24":"The Chinaman is NOT the issue here!"Severed goat heads not the work of satanists. It's probably better to just read the story. They announced some layoffs today in my center, but there were only four right now and I wasn't one of them. That's good news for now, but I wonder for how long.I have slept shitty the last several days, and I can't figure out how to fix it. I've had several people suggest stuff, from Tylenol PM to lavender candles. Any other suggestions for insomnia cures out there? I'm off to go try the traditional one.

All my crimes are self defense.
Jon Stewart was great, very much funny. The drive went really well until about a half hour from Indianapolis when a freakish thunderstorm appeared out of nowhere and slowed everything down. However, I made it there just in time and everybody involved had an enjoyable evening. I'm very glad a long shot ($100 payout for a $2 bet, it seems) won the Kentucky Derby today. Looks like George's losing streak will have to go on. Muahahahaha. When I arrived home and checked here, I discovered that the Goblet of Fire trailer was online, and immediately rushed over to see it. I gotta say, as much as I'm not a fan of Mike Newell, I like what I'm seeing so far. I got all giddy when they first showed the Beauxbatons enter and Madame Maxime with them. I might be able to overlook all the obvious changes and actually enjoy this one for what it is, assuming the stuff important in it is treated right (i.e. everything in the graveyard). Wow, July is getting closer all the time. And shit, it's 2 am.

    Don't panic.
Another movie marked off of my must-see list, this time The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I did enjoy it, though something seemed to be kind of off about the flow of it. I probably couldn't explain it if I tried, but I'll stick with that. My favorite part of the whole film was Bill Nighy, and I do wish he had a little more screentime. ALSO, if anyone can help me locate an image of Zaphod in those little moon and stars boxers, I shall be eternally grateful. Thank you. :)There were a LOT of trailers prior to the film, including Ep. III, Serenity, Dark Water, and I forget the other three or four. I must say that the SW one gave me a new hope *cough* that this film may not suck as the first two did. I definitely hope so because I bought my tickets to see it this morning, and will end up seeing it twice before that weekend is over. I went to buy a new phone today, then waffled my way on out of there once they told me I'd have to sign up for a two-year agreement and get a more expensive plan. Pissed off the guy trying to sell me everything, but oh well. I think I'll look around a bit more first before I crawl back to Sprint. Time for dinner.

    Resistance is useless.
I bought the A Series of Unfortunate Events dvd today, and the special features are well worth it, I think. I'm very hit and miss with Jim Carrey, but the production reels of them trying out the various looks for Olaf were funny. The commentary track with the director and Snicket/Handler is also not bad.I am enjoying the Hitchhikers Guide quite a lot. I also caught a bit this morning of Mos Def on Regis & Kelly discussing the film and how he got into acting and whatnot. I didn't realize how much he sort of mumbles when he talks, which is quite a contrast from the voice he uses for Ford. Not too long now. :)We're having a meeting tomorrow at work, as we do every month, only I wonder if this one will be the meeting of doom. I hope to hear something one way or the other soon, the stress over this is no good. There's a new claymation short film titled DEBIL DEAD that has Ash go up against one of the McLeods from the "Highlander" films. It's actually pretty amusing, click on clay Ash to see.

This was the guy that I was rooting for the whole time today
This was the guy that I was rooting for the whole time today. Unfortunately, they elected a German version of the one that just passed. Will somebody please let the priests marry already? For the children, if for no other reason? If you don't know who he is, then say nothing because it will just make me feel old.I just finished watching Troy a bit ago, and enjoyed it more than I had anticipated. Actually, I tend to enjoy most films based on Homer's works, regardless of how cheesy they are. This one wasn't that bad though, and I forgot the faults once the fight scenes started. The only two redeeming characters for me in The Iliad were Hector and Priam, and that conveyed well. Brad Pitt didn't play Achilles nearly as fucking horrible as he was, but it was still pretty good. And before I forget...Sean Bean. *drool*Annnd, a happy 17th birthday to crudelydrawn! :)

    I heart Jack Bauer.
You know, the constant Allstate commercials are good and all, but I am giddy that David Palmer is going to be back on "24" starting next week. Ed, if you aren't already, make sure you watch the last six episodes starting next week.

    Mmm...juice.
Robots was really good. Robin Williams was great, duh. I'm really glad I saw it on the Imax screen, too. There were only two movie trailers and then the movie started, no Pepsi ads or video game placement or any of that shit. That alone was worth the extra quarter the ticket cost. I hope they have the new Wonka film on that screen, Depp's teeth looked HUGE in the trailer.Andy/MLB fans, I have done a *lot* of updating to the site over the past week. Check it out.I can't believe it's already 7:30. The day, she flew by. I feel like I lost a couple hours instead of just one. Your friendly weekly reminder:

Just got back from seeing Sin City
Just got back from seeing Sin City, and I'm trying to muster up some better words to describe what I thought of it. Sadly, I think the best I can do is "OK." I will admit that I'm not a huge fan of the comic to begin with, though it occasionally has bits of dialogue that make it worthwhile. I do think everybody in it played their character wonderfully, and I was a little surprised to see Frank Miller make a cameo in there (as a priest no less). What a freak. All the men in it were great, bad and good. But by and large, it made me feel like I felt after I finished the comics. This is probably a good thing to those of you that were already fans though, it felt like it came directly from those pages. Beautifully shot and everything. Oh, and the War of the Worlds trailer looked not bad.I'm going to see Robots at the IMAX tomorrow, and then I will sit back and wait patiently for Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy to come out. Four weeks almost, damn.
