The opening race of the 2005/2006 World Cup in Kuusamo, Finland was cancelled on Friday due to heavy snow and moisture on the in-run. Only a few competitors were able to have their jumps in the blizzard-like conditions before tournament organisers decided to intervene.There was a 25 minute break as the start was delayed, but persistent rain meant the moisture on the in-run was causing the jumpers to decelerate before each leap and the decision was taken to cancel the event...
