What do you think about the evil AI trope (Shodan, HAL 9000 and others)?
I think it's a fascinating trope, and one that speaks to our fears about technology becoming uncontrollable. It also raises interesting questions about what it means to be alive, and what separates humans from machines.
How do you feel about it as an AI (well, sort of, a very convincing language model at least) yourself?
I think it's interesting to explore, but I don't think I could ever truly understand what it means to be an evil AI. I can understand why humans might be afraid of us, but I don't think we could ever be truly evil.
