André Léon Marie Nicolas Rieu (born October 1, 1949) is a Dutch violinist, conductor, and composer best known for creating an international revival in waltz music with his "Johann Strauss Orchestra".André Rieu plays a 1667 Stradivarius violin.The Orchestra began in 1987 with 12 members but now performs with between 40 and 50 musicians.
