hi. i come from a little village in england.

i've been a fan of all things herren for years now.

i got singular a week ago (it takes a while for these things to filter through to the english countryside, believe).

i've just completed a three hour train journey with just your record and richard pryors autobiography for company.

after a while i just sat back and listened.

the subliminal rumbling of the train added to the ambience that you have created.

i once played in a tribute to john cage, where someone's phone rang as we were given our instructions before the performance and one of the fat coporate sponsors said "can everyone make sure that they turn their mobile phones off please?" to which stephen montague, the famous composer, said "fuck it, leave 'em on. john would have wanted them on, would have loved the randomness, the singularity of the perfomance with the mobiles included, underpinning it all".

so i hope you'll understand when i say i didnt turn my walkman up, to let your music drown out the engines, but let the machinations slip into the music.

anyway, i'm babbling,

i just wanted to thank you for my ride today, so i thought i should just send you this little missive.

i've heard your voice for a long time now through, your beats, but when records like this and the savath y savalas records come along and i can actually hear your voice (understated) comlimenting the female vocalists, it takes me to different place and gives me the confidence to sometimes slip my own little vocal musings into my music...
