Toyota will tell the owners of 75,000 Prius hybrids that their cars might stall while driving because of a computer software problem.

The problem could cause the car's gasoline engine to stall and not restart, and for several warning lights to illuminate. But the car's steering and braking system will continue to work, and its electric motor will provide enough power to permit the car to leave the road, the company said.
Once stopped, Takahashi said, the car's gasoline engine will restart.
