I came from the starry skyes
From the grassy sunny plain
I am Zimbabwe ancient Bird
That keeps my country flame
I swam along Zambezi
I watched the gale winds come
And for million years I always been
The first Rhodesian
I came on with Cecil Rhodes
I led them wagon trains
I mined the gold, I worked the land
And waited for the rains
