I think that Nietzsche is certainly the greatest, if you want to use the expression, “moral philosopher” of more recent times. I once had a great admiration for Hume. Now I think that he suffered from a somewhat terminal degree of optimism. Nobody who's got to 1999 can take it that seriously.
