Ilmārs Blumbergs / Es nemiršu / LNMM Arsenāls / 15.08.2013–06.10.2013
Blumberga pašķidājošā teatralitāte šeit trasnformējusies par visaptverošām dekorācijām. Vienlaikus, viņš konsekventi turpina to, ko Latvijā dara retais – neuzkrītoši saplūdināt privāto un tautas pieredzes traumatismu mākslā. Blakus literārismam un pēckara Rietumu abstrakcijas atspīdumiem, jaunāko darbu “bērnzīmējumu” estētika diezko viegli neasimilējas kādā acīmredzamā, konkrētā tradīcijā.
Blumbergs’ self-dissecting theatrics here has been transformed into an all-encompassing scenography. At the same time, he consistently produces something uncharacteristic in Latvia – a fusion of private and national traumas as art. Unlike the reverberations of private mythology or postwar Western abstraction, the “children’s drawing” aesthetics of the latest works does not seem to fit easily in any concrete tradition.
