Kolekcijas kopuma nezinātājam grūti spriest par apstākļiem, kas noteikuši kuratora izvēli, un, protams, arī māksliniekam te nekādas teikšanas. Šī ir izstāde nevis par stāstu, par mākslinieku vai par kuratoru, bet gan par kolekciju. Tā arī – kopā ar zināmu filantropisku ekshibicionismu – ir šādu izstāžu sūtība.

For someone not familiar with the totality of the collection it is impossible to know the conditions determining the curator’s choice, and, of course, the artist also has no say in this. This is an exhibition not about a story, an artist, or a curator, but about the collection itself. That – together with a certain philanthropic exhibitionism – is the essence of this kind of shows.

Caur romantismu un drupām, ģeoloģiju un botāniku un gaisa/gaismas efektu modelējumiem, rēgojas pre-modernā cilvēka spēkošanās ar dabu. Ironiski, ka, zeltīto kuram-lielāks rāmju ievirzīts, skatiens biežāk šķiet atduramies pret perfektu plakni – nevis realitātes ilūziju. Feders vairākus gadus vadījis fotostudiju.

Through ruins and Romanticism, geology and botany, and modeling of air and light effects, a pre-Modern man’s struggle with nature shines forth. Ironically, the spectator’s gaze, directed by the golden mine-is-bigger-than-yours frames, more often than not hits a perfect plane instead of an illusion of reality. Feders ran a photo studio for several years.
