Sehwag extended his sixth Test century by hitting three fours in the second over following the break.
Pakistan removed Ashish Chopra and Rahul Dravid before tea, but Sachin Tendulkar is looking confident.
It is the first Test series between the two teams for four years and the first in Pakistan since 1989.
