1) Update your avatar to something Depechey, post-1985 ... that's when the Mode grew into their coolness, and you'll seem cooler for being aware of it. Represent!
2) Don't admit to people that you have mental problems. It's kind of a turn-off. I know you're weirding me out. :D
3) What do you like to do for fun? Figure it out, then participate in something related to that involving other people. Friendship is borne out of commonalities.
4) Do drugs, especially hallucinogens. You'll have imaginary friends popping out of the cracks in your sofa and your walls (and trust me, it takes years to get rid of them).
5) Maybe your fashion is off. Watch more TLC.
6) Get a pet. Even when your people friends fail you, your pet has to love you (because who else is going to feed it, dammit).
7) Doesn't every high school have a curb where all the so-called stoners (social misfits) go for smokes? Perfect. Go buy yourself a pack and you'll fit right in.
8) Join the Drama Club. You've perfected it anyway, so why not use it to be a star!
9) Buy the complete South Park series on DVD and memorize every freakin' line of it. It's amazing how many conversations you can start by quoting Cartman. Fat ass.
10) Subscribe to People magazine, forget your own social life and just live vicariously through celebrity exploits.
11) When you see groups of other kids talking, just walk up to them and start nodding and chuckling at everything they say. They may not take to it in the friendliest of terms, but I think you can count it as socializing when they tell you to F' off!
12) When all else fails ... MySpace. C'mon, you can get yourself 1,000 new "friends" in about an hour; you'll never feel more popular!
