Ne gluži. Ķērpji ir bišku gudrāki kā cilvēki un nevis lien zem UV stariem, lai apceptos, bet sintezē dažādus ķīm.sav., kas ļauj tiem nenosauļoties, respektīvi, aizsargāties no UV starojuma.
