My dentist is really a nice guy...really... He doesn't let you hurt and if you do he stops and gives you more nonhurtystuff. So I decide that finishing up with the removal of the last three wisdom teeth was a good idea. No more pussy-footing around, let's just get the thing over and done and none of that woozy making anesthetic stuff please. I'm still amazed at the amount of dental apparatus they can stuff into a mouth, retractors, mirrors, picks, a wicked looking plier thing, suture, hemostat and all (well it felt like all) at the same time. And this is what kills me, they ask you questions. Them: "How are you doing?" Me: "murfle" [1]. Them: "Let us know if you need anything." Me: "murfle" [2]. Them: "How are you feeling?" Me: "murfle" [3]. As a parting gift, they give me a 'script for percocet. Now how can I walk up to the pharmacist and get this filled. Pharmacist: "Date of birth." Me: "murfle" [4]. Pharmacist: "What?" Me "murfle" [5]. So I thought it was a good idea to let the stuff wear off so I could talk. Bad idea. Now the conservation could go like this.. Pharmacist: "Date of birth." Me: "owie." Pharmacist: "What?" Me "owie, owie, owie." Thank goodness HM is a linguist. Memo: When changing the gauze dressing, make sure you are tugging on the gauze and not your numb tongue. It will make the process go smoother.[1] My lip fell to the floor, please do not step on it.[2] Please pith me like a frog.[3] Like I was in the sledge hammer fighting olympics.[4] Why yes kind lady, here is the date of my hatching.[5] Just give me my ticket to ride the happy train.

That's right I finished project du'insane! I actually finished this piece last Sunday, but didn't want to post about it until I gave to the person in question. It is done in 33 different colors of 11/0 delica beads, white silimide thread and measures 100 beads by 210 rows. I took the logo for the pattern from the website and ran it through mac stitch to generate a graph. Next, I converted the DMC embroidery floss over to delica colors. Finally, I re-charted the graph in excel to simulate a peyote stitch graph.

Kulture

I finished up the hat with kitty ears from Stitch 'n Bitch. It is grey with pink lining the ears. The matching grey scarf has pink and grey tassels at the ends. The black/grey yarn is Sensations Angel Hair purchased from Jo-Ann's Fabric store. It is 25% wool, 50% acrylic, 28% nylon and comes in a 3 1/2 ounce, 100 g, 120 yards, 110 meter skein. The Art # is 07366545, color # 242, lot # 885. I used approximately 5 skeins for the hat and scarf. The hot pink yarn is Santa Ana purchased from Great Yarns store. It is 33% wool, 67% nylon and comes in a 50 g, 66 yards, 60 meter skein. The color # 4167, lot # 2541. Gauge 12 stitches X 14 rows. Suggested needle size is US 10 1/2. I used 1 skein for the hat and scarf. The hat was knitted in the round on addi turbo needles size 8, 16 inches and finished up on double pointed needles size 8. I don't remember what needle size I used for the scarf. It was a blast to knit and made me feel quite silly wearing it.Edited:

Kitty ear hat and scarf

I finished up the purple choker [1] and the kitty/mirror necklace [2] this weekend. Now I can start practice (playing) with the polymer clay without too much guilt. I was inspired by Donna Kato's demonstration at Ornamentea on Friday. My friend and I supplied ourselves with instruction book, tools and polymer clay. After dinner, we set off in search of a pasta machine (used to condition the clay). It became apparent, in the past few months. pasta machines are no longer in vogue. Fryers have become the "in" kitchen toy. After three stops we found one (actually one for each of us). And no, there is no need to ring both machines up together?!? Next it was off to Lowes for a tile to bake the beads on. I'm certain the Lowes dude has never encountered such an odd question. Finally it was back to the house to make some cute swirly black/hot pink beads. [1] Extremely dark purple seeds with pale purple 3mm beads.[2] Mom-in-law collects cats and I thought the necklace would be a good birthday present.

Technology marches on and I did expect that sooner or later (I really was hoping for later) my beloved cube would begin to become obsolete. I went out with HM last evening to snag Tiger and while there, I picked up a new game. Ok, I didn't read the requirements, perhaps I have too much goo infesting my brain [1] or I was just too tired [2]. At any rate, my cube lacks a dvd drive and, therefore, the game will not work. Boo and hoo.Now we come to the piggy part. I asked HM a few questions, poked around a bit on the Apple site and ta-da: a Mac Mini with a super drive, gobs of memory, air port and blue tooth capable. Now just set that up with the cube as a secondary hard-disk and meow...I mean oink!
Hi! I know we only briefly just met, but.. Nobu's birthday is on the 23rd. I thought it'd be nice if we threw him a surprise party or something!..Um. Only if you want to, though! It's just that. He's.. talked a lot about you all, I wanted to ask. And he's helped me so much since I got here. It's the least I can do, you know?
