just a perfect getaway weekend :-)~ the cool breeze, the awesome games & rides on the boardwalk... so much fun :-) after walking down the entire beach whilst the waves crashed against our ankles/legs, my friend & i fell asleep on the most secluded part of the beach whilst watching & listening to the faint sounds of the waves rolling in & the giggles of children playing far off in the distance. sooooo relaxing.~ getting to the catalyst club early in time to listen to the frames warm up w/ *gulp* 'what happens when the heart just stops'!!!!! i was praying they'd play it! just listening to it reverberate through to us @ the bar whilst i swayed to & fro was so awesome. moreso when i embarrassingly looked back to see the headlining band, calexico, sitting together @ a table staring in our direction :-o uh, yeah man, the opening act rules :-D~ running into glen hansard several times in the bar after the warm-up. it seemed every time i got up to walk around, he was there for me to (almost!) bump into. he just smiled knowingly :-)~ being front row, which was DAMN close :-D, & having glen making loads of eye contact & smiling @ me throughout the set!!! what was that about?!? did it when they first came on, when i girly-shrieked @ the start of 'star star**' (huuuuuge grin there!), when i was the ONLY one who cheered @ the first chords of 'what happens when the heart just stops', when i tore away from my loving gaze of colm (whom i am now madly in love w/!) playing his beautiful violin instrument to look @ glen who had the sweetest smile on his face, & so on & so on...... :-) awesome. i can not wait for them to tour the states again, but damnit it better be headlining :-D~ being completely surprised w/ how good calexico is live. i'd heard a few songs beforehand & liked them, but man they can really jam live. good sexy disco, mariachi, electronic music is the best i can describe it :-)~ @ the end of the show requesting & being given the big promotional frames poster hung in the window... so awesome :-) getting to spend the weekend @ the beach listening to jack johnson the whole roadtrip & seeing a kickass show from the frames... i honestly couldn't have pictured a more perfect 'holiday' :-D http://klab.lv/users/stupidoptimist/4087.html http://klab.lv/users/stupidoptimist/3617.html Sat, 02 Jan 2010 14:56:14 GMT stupidoptimist@veribest.info http://klab.lv/users/stupidoptimist/3617.html d'oh!
