kā jau modernajā darbavietā, es sēžu milzīgā zālē (bez logiem) kopā ar vēl vismaz pāris simtiem indiešu. viņiem ir raksturīgs ne tikai daudzums, bet arī skaļa uzvedība, tāpēc, piemēram, sarunāties pa telefonu var tikai ar zināmu piepūli.
bet šodien, pirmoreiz pa šiem mēnešiem, notika kaut kas negaidīts - otrā zāles galā kāds (boss, protams) skaļi un nikni iekliedzās vienreiz, pēc tam otrreiz. nākamās pāris minūtes valdīja tāds klusums, kāds vēl nebija bijis. pēc tam viss atgriezās normālā troksnī un ritmā.
žēl tikai, ka neko nesaprotu.

Today if I want to phone someone just to chat, I first have to consider whether the call will be viewed as intrusive. My method is to ask myself, “Have I ever seen this person in the nude?” The sighting doesn’t have to be (indeed, seldom is) recent. Nor is it necessary that I remember it. I need only deduce that, sometime or other, I must have seen this person naked.

pēc 20 gadiem atkal Šveicē. nekas nav mainījies. tiesa gan, vietējā pilsētā kebabēriju ir tikpat, cik picēriju tagad.

vīriņi bārā runā kaut kādā kalniešu vācvalodā un uzcienā mani ar saldējumu. piedavā arī viskiju, bet es nini. komandējums.
