Hmmm. I swear I didn't mean to spend my entire day reading, but after flooding the garage (The washing machine malfunctioned and overflowed) which put paid to my other plans for the day, I picked up one of the books I bought the other day with my Birthday book tokens and decided I'd skim a few chapters.It was Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. I think you can guess how this ends.It has been so long since I've had a decent book to read and the time to read it, this was like water in the desert. Doesn't hurt that it's one truly spectacular book, too. I might have to hold off on my other new book - Anansi Boys - if I don't want to be left without nothing to read for months again. On the other hand, my shiny reserved leatherbound copy of Necronomicon should be coming in this week, so... |
