12:22 - September in Australiais really nice i think. Heatwave not yet upon us and then theres magpies. Could you believe id forgotton all about magpies while i was away. How great it is to cop the wrath of an angry nesting magpie bird or even better to laugh at others copping its hormonal mother bird wrath..swooping down from the trees to try and peck the heads of poor unsuspecting bypassers..They're not nasty all year round just during nesting season in September.and while walking through the park toget here, i was having to swing my bag over my head to stop them pecking at me. The kids on the basketball courts were laguhing. which was fair enough really. But you can outsmart magpies without too much trouble. They only swoop if your backs turned or if youre not looking at them directlyu. so with the cunning ruse of turning your hat around or positioning your sunglasses on the back of your head, its possi ble to just keep walking past. with a smug satisfaction of knowing you were smarter. superior to the magpie... |
