Just a quick thought, but doesn't the very existence of a bound like this contradict the idea that spacetime is continous? I mean, continous -> infinite precision -> infinite number of bits needed to specify coordinates -> infinite information. Even if just ontologically, not epistemologically (because of uncertainty principle).
