Conspiracy implies a pre-planned goal. We conspire in order to achieve an objective. Did the NSA know ? Of course. Did they use it ? Of course. Do they do a lot of otherwise illegal or immoral stuff ? Of course. But my point is there is no conspiracy. Just your run of the mill, path of minimum resistance, abuse of power at work here. In peasant's words the rule goes something like this: if it gains you an advantage and no one can stop you, you WILL make use of something, even if immoral or even illegal. This is simply the play of power. To stay in power, you use any means available. That's all. Does it worry me ? No. I'm nothing but the grain of sand on the beach, wondering why the big sharks are fighting. Big sharks don't care for some sand. As far as I'm concerned, "they" are going to do their power play relentlessly, until something or someone will put a stop to it. And stop going all NSA about it. Do you think the Russians, the Chinese, the Japanese, the Europeans were these saints watching in terror how Uncle Satan Sam performs digital necromancy ? The USA simply gets the side effect of being the most advertised nation here, but believe you me, there are quite a few other nations that do all these unpleasant things, but do them in silence. No one scrutinizes them, so no one knows. But they do do. This is the system. Either you are small, either you are enemy, either you are big and they (the other big ones) corrupt you to control you, either you want to make it big and will have to wear that suit and tie and become one of the corrupt big boys to be allowed to make it big. This is the 21 century Matrix. This is our world today. Powerplays. What keeps on surprising you beats the hell out of me. I got all too accustomed to this crap already. My 2 cents ? No conspiracy. Just business as usual. |
