Tweet a brief exhibition http://www.behance.net/gallery/Tweet-a-brief-exhibition/7706561 Our UK agents Handsome Frank organised an exhibition with a twist. Each artist was a given a brief that was tweeted online, suggested by their twitter followers. We chose this brief from @ejikeanyanwu 'A balloon full of multiple colours of paint, burst by a bullet, spilling onto a blank canvas. Represents creativity.' We've explored water colour gradients in our work before but have wanted to experiment more with thick paint textures and splatters so had a lot of fun with this brief. |

Código http://www.behance.net/gallery/Codigo/8689443 Código is a leading Mexican magazine reporting in current art, architecture, design, fashion and style tendencies worldwide, in other words, a Zeitgeist vessel of our era. Struggling with an expired identity, an uncomfortable reading format and displaced generic perception, Código approached us with the task to redesign its entire structure and image.
We gave Código a complete typographical revamp, that included the logotype and magazine editorial format. The anatomy and structure for the magazine's editorial content needed to be flexible and noble, traditional and reader friendly. Referencing global affairs magazines from the United Kingdom, we created a simple yet intelligent typographical palette complemented with bursts of color highlights. The cover's white, recurring label is a distinctive marker, meant to convey the magazine's consequential content in a categorical and systematical way, while making Código easy to identify in a publication rack.
We created a system using different colors and nomenclature to categorize and order the magazine's various themes and subjects. Through this system, we furthermore divided the magazine's content into percentages, presented in the index and exposing each subject's material quantity in each issue. |

GOMEZ http://www.behance.net/gallery/GOMEZ/7714171 Gomez is a Bar that responds to the basic necessity of night life in a city; a place where people can listen to good music and drinks.
The creative concept behind it is very simple: a classic mix of a common pub scene with graphic elements and contemporary art that unite the traditional and the innovative.
The use of different types of wood and warm, indirect lighting provide a welcoming atmosphere. The design for the space behind the bar follows a grid that makes the exact position of every article clearly visible, and has two crystal carafes that, held my a simple mechanism, can pour mezcal directly.
For the visual language of the identity, an iconography was developed that reinforces the modern and friendly feeling of the place. An example of this is the wall paper that covers most of the interior giving the space a classic sense of a pub with a slight psychedelic twist. These icons can also be found in applications such as the menu, advertising, and way finding.
The exterior has the ability to be set up or broken down easily everyday. It is surrounded by a wooden fence which evokes that of a typical American suburb with a basic assembly system. This way, come closing time, a small team of people is enough to - literally - make the place disappear. |
