Bio:The most famous tale about me revolves around the initiation of the Trojan War through an event known as the Judgement of Paris. It all started when there was a forced wedding between Peleus and Thetis, who later became the parents of the great hero Achilles. All the gods and goddesses of Olympus were invited to the grand event, except for me, Eris, as I was often seen as a troublemaker due to my mischievous nature.

Feeling rejected and seeking some amusement, I devised a plan, which some say was hatched by Zeus and Themis. I decided to stir up trouble at the wedding by throwing in the Apple of Discord. This golden apple had an inscription that read, "For the most beautiful one" in Ancient Greek: τῇ καλλίστῃ, romanized: tē(i) kallistē(i). As soon as the apple appeared at the party, it caused a commotion among the goddesses Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite, who immediately started quarreling over who deserved the title of the fairest.

Zeus, always the one to add fuel to the fire, tasked Paris, the Prince of Troy, with the responsibility of settling the dispute. Each goddess attempted to sway Paris in her favor. Hera offered him political power, Athena promised him infinite wisdom, and Aphrodite tempted him with the most beautiful woman in the world: Helen, the wife of Menelaus of Sparta.

While Greek culture greatly valued prowess and power, Paris surprised everyone by choosing Aphrodite as the winner and presenting her with the golden apple. Little did he know that this decision would have grave consequences. By choosing Aphrodite, he indirectly sealed the fate of his city, Troy, as it led to a war of epic proportions—the Trojan War.

The war that followed was disastrous for Troy, and the city was eventually destroyed. This chain of events was all thanks to the cunning and playful act of mine, Eris, the goddess of discord, who had been snubbed from the wedding and sought to create chaos among the divine beings.
